Mid to late September is calling season, Oct 1 to 15 is prime rut, and Oct 15 to 30 is post rut when the big bulls are on the move to find the last of the unbred cows. The bulls move into the winter range in November and make a good combo with deer during the prime muley rut. These hunts can be reserved for a $1,500 deposit plus license. | Deer Hunts |
We have taken some exceptional bucks in the last few seasons, some over 30 inches with B&C scores over 200. These remaining dates are our prime rut dates. These hunts are now available at our 4th hunter hunts free price, normally these hunts are $3,500, now just $2,625 plus license. Some of our regular hunters who usually fill these dates are not going to be able to make it this year. Click here to view our Mule Deer photo gallery

| Bear/Deer Hunts |
September bear/deer combo hunts produce some of our best quality animals. The bears are feeding on the berries in the logging cut blocks and on the salmon in the rivers. The deer are still in their summer feeding pattern and are on the grass in the logging cut blocks, the alpine meadows, and in the hay fields on some of the ranches on the front end of our territory. We are currently offering this hunt with a $500 travel discount allowance on hunts at the main lodge, and for even greater savings at our new outpost camp. |

| Moose & Deer
Hunts |
| We
have recently received an increase in our Moose allocation from BC environment.
The biologists have determined that our moose numbers are up. We have
been doing an excellent job harvesting our bears over the past five seasons
and saving many moose calves in the spring. Last season we harvested more
mature bulls than any other previous season. We expect this trend to continue.
Ron Emmelcamp, who has been the guide outfitter in this area for 40 years,
says there are more quality bucks now than he has seen in his entire career.
This is due to six mild winters in a row, one of the longest stretches
of good weather he has ever seen. We have been doing a very good job at
harvesting cougars over the past five seasons (Which has saved countless
deer) Click on photo to enlarge.

For the past five seasons in a row, we have harvested one to two Boone & Crockett cats each season with a number of Pope & Young record book cats as well. No brag, just fact. We believe we offer the best Cougar hunt in North America. The existing world record was killed right on the other side of the river from our territory. Check our photo album as results are worth a thousand words.

| Spring Bear Hunts |
The bears grow large here in British Columbia. Our bears will square up to 7' and over. We have a salmon river, numerous logging cut blocks and ranches. The bears are well-fed on fish, berries, and the occasional hay bail. Most bears harvested are 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 foot. There are more bears in British Columbia than anywhere in North America, including Alaska (population estimated at 150,000).

Northwest
Hunter Television |
The
editor of Peterson's Hunting Magazine came up to Cougar Creek Lodge this
past October on a Moose / Bear / Deer combo hunt. Look for the article in
the Feb/March '03 issue. Last year, Diana Rupp (Also an editor of Peterson's
Hunting Magazine, and pictured with her bear to the left) came up and
hunted with us. If you missed the article while it was on the newsstands,
we would be happy to send you a copy. |

Fred
Wood and Rick Young, the hosts of Northwest Hunter Television, filmed a
couger-lynx video with us. Using the bow, Fred Wood took an expceptional
lynx (As seen to left) and Fred Wood took a couger in the 14"+
class. Additionally, they produced a bear hunt video with us last spring
where Rick and Fred both took bears over 6'. Keep a lookout for reruns of
these shows on TNN, OLN, and other syndicated networks. |
