BC Guided Hunt Costs: A Complete Trip Budget Worksheet
The outfitter's quote is the starting point for a BC guided hunt budget. Compare the total trip in one currency, including the costs before and after the days you hunt.
Compare like-for-like quotes
Two packages can have the same headline price and very different totals. One may include a transfer and another may begin at a remote departure point. One may cover full hunting days while another counts travel within the trip length. Write down the species, dates, actual hunting days, guide arrangement, camp, and access method before comparing cost.
There is no single useful price for every BC hunt. Request a current, dated quote for the trip you want. This worksheet deliberately uses your own quotes instead of presenting an unsourced province-wide price range.

Use one currency and track payment dates
Keep the original quoted currency next to every cost. Convert amounts to your home currency using a dated exchange-rate assumption and account for any payment or conversion charges. Recheck before each payment; a deposit and final balance paid months apart may convert at different rates.
Use this calculation: trip total = hunt package + excluded mandatory costs + travel + equipment + after-hunt costs + optional spending + contingency. Do not add an item twice if it is already included in the package. Keep a separate payment calendar for the deposit, balance, and travel bookings.
Budget for the outcome as well as the booking
Ask which costs change after a harvest and what happens if travel is delayed or the hunt ends early. Request written prices or calculation methods for conditional charges rather than treating them as zero. Read any cancellation or travel insurance terms against the activities you actually plan to undertake.
Use our outfitter interview checklist to resolve exclusions. Compare moose, black bear, and other BC hunt types by trip fit before deciding what to quote.
